45 Degrees of Perfection by Lin Ray Chang
(Source)
Today is a special post, I admire Lin Ray Chang who thought of this concept and have balls of steel to compete with other modelers. We mostly see entries with gigantic dioramas, all-out kitbashing, custom color schemes and battle/weathered damage effect but this is the first time I saw an entry as unique as this. Yes, it is simple, but who among the thousands of modelers have thought of doing this? I didn’t, and honestly I wish I even had a slight thought.
Why am I giving emphasis on this concept? I have realized that sometimes, as we aim to give our best, we seldom forget the uniqueness, the originality. We also fear that because some might just criticize our work, but I bet you always say this “Gunpla is Freedom”. If we really believe it that way, I think we should not limit ourselves on what other people think about our finished project. Yes, GBWC is a yearly event and we only have a shot to participate, but you know what? I think GBWC should have a new category “Most Unique Concept Award” or should I call it “Balls of Steel Award”.
Again, I salute the modeler behind this Michael Jackson-inspired concept, I’m looking forward to more of your future projects.
